About the Aesthetician
Alena was happily living in Prague until the summer of 1968, when the Russian invasion of the Czech Republic changed all that. Alena had to make the life altering and emotional decision to leave the life that she knew and start a new life in Canada. As a young girl, at the age of 14, Alena was fascinated by Skin Care Salons in Prague. She had occasional facials and pedicures behind her mother’s back... would she approve?... (her mom was a regular skin care salon visitor and a great teacher). Alena had learned so much from those early years and dreamed that maybe one day....
Many years past, now settled in London, Ontario and while raising her son Karl, Alena’s dreams were finally taking shape in the right direction. After completing her studies in the field of Natural Healing, she mastered further 1,800 hours of studies in Basic and Advanced Aesthetics with a 98% average including an international board exam, C.I.D.E.S.C.O., commenced one year later. Alena opened her very own Holistic Skin Care Salon in May 1985 in London,Ontario. Those days “Holistic approach” to Skin Care Treatments in was something unheard of, so this was in a way only just a beginning!
Always positive and full of energy, tenacious Alena pioneered on... thousands of extra hours, thousands of dollars in fees, extensive traveling (most times with her son Karl by her side also learning all the “weird stuff”), in short - vast amounts of continuing education to solidify her Holistic Skin and Body Care practice. The biggest lesson of all was still to come. On June 1, of 2003 her beautiful son Karl, at age 25, lost his life in a head on collision. He and his fiancee were out for a leisurely drive, and with no fault on Karl’s part, their car was struck just before making a left hand turn. Still in shock due to the sudden loss of her son, Alena was again faced with another tragedy: her mother past away also very suddenly only a few months later.
Alena has been challenged above and beyond what any human being could withstand, yet she is still standing. Thanks to the years of training in Holistic Care and the body-mind-spirit connection and understanding the reasons behind it all, Alena found resources of inner healing there. Drawing on those principles each and every day helped her to make a choice to move forward in her life once again: “I stand before you today because of my love for my son and my mom and their vision for me in this work which they knew was and still is my passion and purpose in this life.”
Alena loves her work, is a very dedicated holistic practitioner and aesthetician, and now more than ever, her steadfast vision aims for the best natural “Fountain of Youth” her clients deserve. Being very thorough and particular in all she does, Alena’s love for her work indeed comes shining through. Her beautiful inner spirit and her caring compassion for others are evident and are in everything that she undertakes. Alena is a symbol of hope for those who have lost a loved one and have made the choice to go on living. She is truly a Living Beacon of Light for many.
