What is Aromatherapy?

The use of essential oils dates back to ancient times, but there has never been a time when essential oils are more needed than today. The world is facing medical disaster. The overuse of modern-day wonder drugs has created mutations that medical science never anticipated. Fortunately, there are answers that provide a way for us to protect ourselves, our family and friends from these potential dangers.

Aromatherapy: An ancient Science Returns to the Modern World
According to the translation of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and Chinese manuscripts, priests and physicians were using oils thousands of years before the time of Christ. There are 188 references to oils in the Bible. Some precious oils, such as frankincense, myrrh, galbanum, rosemary, hyssop, cassia, cinnamon and spikenards were used for anointing and the healing of the sick. The wise men brought the oils of frankincense and myrrh to the Christ child.

Clinical research now shows that frankincense oil contains very high immune-stimulating properties. Science is just now rediscovering the healing properties of essential oils that were used in ancient times and beginning to acknowledge its value.

Aromatherapy is a Science of Essential Oils
Essential oils are extracts from different parts of plants and have the oldest history of healing known to man. The name “Aromatherapy” was coined by Rene-Maurice Gattefosse, M.D., in 1920. While working in his lab, he suffered a third degree burn on his hand. He immediately plunged his hand into a vat of lavender oil which he thought was water. To his surprise, the burning slowly decreased and stopped in a few moments altogether. Over time with the continual application of essential oils of Lavender, the burn healed completely without a trace of a scar.

A few years later Dr. Valnet experimented with essential oils during the post-war years with some amazing experiences. Dr. Valnet had two students who did their internship with him who were responsible for expanding his work, Dr. Paul Belaiche, and Dr. Jean Claude Lapraz. These two young medical doctors picked up on Dr. Valnet’s work to practice medicine using essential oils. They discovered that essential oils contain anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties as well as being powerful oxygenators with the ability to act as carrying agents in the delivery of nutrients and oxygen inside the cell.

  • Research shows that essential oils are powerhouses of many nutrients. They have different chemical constituents with many different properties and endless wellness applications.
  • Some essential oils increase the production of ATP (Adenosine triphosphate –universal energy donor of the cell) as well as increase oxygen absorption within the cells and utilization of oxygen from other sources, such as food and water more efficiently.
  • Clinical research shows that pure essential oils have the highest frequency of any natural substance known to man – if we keep our body frequency high enough and well oxygenated we will be free of disease.
  • No pathogens – bacteria, viruses, fungi etc…are unable to live in the presence of pure, organic essential oils.
  • Pure essential oils are not oily and evaporate quickly. Essential oils need to be stored in a dark, cool place with a tight lid.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy Body Massage is the application of an essential oil blend in a very special massage treatment.  Blends are better to use because they work in synergy, where each essential oil is enhanced by the other thus making the treatment more effective.

Single oils or 90% oxygen may also be employed for inhalation at the time of massage.

Because of essential oil’s high anti-oxidant properties, high anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-infectious properties, high anti-microbial activity and high immune-stimulating power, the pure essential oils are valued by many holistic and medical establishments around the world.

Aromatherapy Body Massage is one of the best ways to slow down the fast pace of today’s busy lifestyles, to maintain wellness, prevent illness and alleviate stress and tension as well as an aid to ease the mind, balance the mood and calm the emotions- best remedy for sleep.

Essential oils help to detoxify the cells and blood of the body, strengthen the organs and re-establish the cellular balance.

It is important to know that only genuine, pure essential oils have the incredible properties for which they are recognized. Because pure essential oils are very costly, it can very often be adulterated and “stretched” with chemicals to sell cheaply. Such oils can be very toxic and cause number of health problems, such as: allergies, headaches as well as suppress the immune system. Buyers beware
